Don’t wait until it’s too late, make sure you have your latest email and an account security question tied to your AIM account. This will ensure if your account gets compromised or you lose access to your email you can still log into AIM. It’s pretty simple, and should only take you a min!
Go to http://myaccount.aol.com/. Once you are logged in, you can update your account by clicking on manage my account details, update my contact information. You can add/change your security question by clicking on manage username, update/change my account security question.
Most likely your account’s been hacked and is sending spam. Reset your password http://password.aol.com/ and this should get you back in a good state.
Earlier this year we launched the new AIM with a redesigned way to organize your contacts. We heard from a lot of you who missed your custom groups. We listened, so now your groups are right where you left them.
Don’t worry, if you’ve come to love your list without custom groups, you can easily hide them. Simply go to your menu, choose “Contacts” then deselect “Show custom groups”. We promise we’ll get them back in our mobile apps soon.

You may have noticed logging into to AIM.com is a no go since earlier today. We’re working hard to fix the problem. In the meantime, you can use AIM Express. http://www.aim.com/products/express to chat on the web.
